Think and Grow Rich

Celebrating three-quarters of a century for a top motivational book.

Origination Fundamentals By Douglas Smith

In 1937, Napoleon Hill Published his landmark work “Think and Grow Rich”. It became one of the most influential books of all time pointing people to the way of personal achievement and financial freedom. To this day, 75 years later, it remains a best seller among all business and self-help books.

“Think and Grow Rich” was inspired by American magnate Andrew Carnegie, who disclosed his own fundamentals and formulas for success to the author. Carnegie’s ideas reflected through Hill’s book inspired scores of others to adopt a series of simple “how to” approaches and become successful businesspeople and millionaires themselves. The underlying premise for “Think and Grow Rich” can be summarized in just one sentence: If you can change your mind, you can change your life.

Your mind is the navigator of your life and in our case here. Your mind will tell you what to think, where to go and how to behave. Your mind is responsible for where you are today because of what it has told you to believe.

If your goal is to move to someplace different (more success, more customers, more income, more loans, more happiness) than you must begin to condition your mind to believe in something different.

There are some people who don’t believe they can achieve more. They don’t believe they can move past the present and enjoy a better future.

Carnegie believed emphatically that he would be an enormous success and that his business ideas were valid. He believed in America, he believed in his people, he believed in the land of opportunity…and he believed in himself. When you read “Think and Grow Rich” you will be continually reminded of the power of the mind and how your thoughts and belief system will dictate what you do today and what you try to become tomorrow. So what do you believe?  Here are a few questions you should answer:

1.      Do you believe in your abilities?

2.      Do you believe you are as good as or better than your competition?

4.      Do you believe you have control over your time, your results and your income?

5.      Do you believe you can change the way you think? The last question is what I call the “killer” question: Do you truly believe you can change the way you think? Can you move from your current mindset to a new mindset? Can you stop looking at the obstacles and start looking for the opportunities? It is essential that you can.
